Oggi è la giornata dedicata ad Ada Lovelace. Avevo già annunciato le ragioni di quest’iniziativa nel mio post “finding ada” di qualche mese fa: nel frattempo le adesioni hanno continuato a crescere fino a superare il tetto delle 1500.
Ho pensato lungamente a chi dedicare il mio post.. pensavo ad una donna italiana che potesse essere un buon modello di eccellenza nella tecnologia. Ce ne sono tante che si occupano di cose diverse: la prima che mi è venuta in mente è stata Fiorella Operto, fondatrice della scuola di robotica e già premiata Tecnovisionaria del 2008.
Poi mi sono venute in mente le molte donne e amiche che lavorano nella pubblica amministrazione, che vuol dire anche ospedali, e nelle Università con ruoli di responsabilità nell’informatica e alla fatica che hanno fatto per riuscire ad affermarsi, magari perché anche le famiglie non capivano quest’idea di studiare informatica all’Università. Che si inventano mille modi per trovare fondi e per fare funzionare i loro team, applicando modelli di leadership innovativi, non basati sull’obbedienza e la fedeltà.
Poi mi e’ venuta in mente una giovane ricercatrice di Torino, Vittoria Colizzi che ha lanciato il suo progetto influweb e con lei tutte le giovani ricercatrici che ho conosciuto, e non tutte hanno avuto la possibilità di essere mantenute dalla famiglia durante gli studi, che hanno passione e capacità e se va bene, fanno dottorati di ricerca con stipendi implausibili o lavorano come co.co.pro in qualche azienda.
La situazione delle donne in Italia è un paradosso inspiegabile per i nostri concittadini europei: siamo nelle ultime posizioni sia come numero di donne occupate e abbiamo un tasso di natalità bassissimo. Un paradosso che facilmente si spiega con un circolo vizioso in cui se sei giovane e a rischio maternità non ti assumono, se sei in una relazione stabile ma senza lavoro non fai figli perche’ un solo stipendio non basta, se hai figli affronti difficoltà pazzesche per conciliare il lavoro con i della famiglia se hai un lavoro che ti piace e su cui investi, sai che fare un figlio inevitabilmente ti costerà sul piano della carriera.
Non so quanto siano rappresentative le donne che ho citato: mi rendo conto che manca tutta la categoria delle tecno imprenditrici.. ci sarà un motivo?
